相信大家也有一陣子迷一首歌、重覆聽不停的經驗；一部令人感動的好電影也一定會有令人回味無窮的好配樂。最近水某的電影愛樂是David Bowie的Space Oddity，這是Ben Stiller的白日夢冒險王(The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)裡的一首歌。

Ben Stiller飾演的男主角常神遊做白日夢，在白日夢中他成為拯救世界的英雄，帥氣地出現在暗戀的對象面前；或是出手教訓了與自己不對盤的上司；但從每一個精采的白日夢中醒來後，還是要繼續面對令人沮喪的每一天。但有一天，公司重要的物品不見了，現實逼得他不得不出國去尋找這遺失的資產。在踏出自己的舒適圈後，遇到了各種挑戰，也開始了自我探索與成長的人生旅程。而這首歌就是他在決定真正開始冒險時出現的：在他的白日夢中，暗戀的對象自彈自唱這首歌，鼓勵他是時候該下定決心了。

歌詞中的Major Tom是個虛擬的太空人，也是男主角在戲中做白日夢時被同事揶揄的綽號，把他比喻做跟這首歌裡的Major Tom一樣飄在空中，活在自己的世界裡，飄不回地球了。

歌詞內容有一種孤寂如男主角活在自己世界裡的感覺，但搭配著電影，”there’s nothing I can do”不斷地重覆也呼應著男主角原本的生活方式，是時候該覺醒了…
